OutLoud is a fashion blog created out of love for fashion brands and designers. It must have all started when I was little, since I was raised in a fashion store. Years later, I did my studies in fashion and started working in the field. Soon, I decided to create OutLoud and do my part the way I know best. A bit of humor is all needed when sharing the latest fashion trends. Right? Currently we are exploring the collections of major fashion brands for spring/summer 2021. Have a seat!

CHANEL SS21 FASHION COLLECTION | FASHION DESIGNER Virginie Viard | A tribute to the brand's Hollywood Heritage | OutLoud
Fashion brand Chanel, SS21 collection by Virginie Viard. A travel back to the origins of the brand, where movie stars acted as the muses of its creations!
CHANEL. One of the major brands in fashion that is out there on its own. No big conglomerate behind to support the fashion house. With the relatively recent loss of Karl Lagerfeld, the brand is able to show its true identity... The one of Resurrection. Just like Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel did after World War II, due to which she was forced to close her shops. The fashion brand keeps evolving and showing us beautiful collections. Watch Chanel SS21 RTW, as imagined by Virginie Viard.
A ''clean,'' white-painted set.
White.
A blank canvas that symbolizes new beginnings. It is the time to restart ourselves, reinvent ourselves and start painting whatever we want to to see for our future. There is no past. It is a time to dream for the life to come. “I was thinking about actresses who make us dream so much,” Virginie Viard said. And here is the juice of the whole collection.
Did you, by any chance, notice the 'subtle' letters creating the name of the fashion house in the backdrop? Anyone thinking of the HOLLYWOOD sign at the Santa Monica Mountains?
Bingoo... As Virginie Viard said, the show was devoted to ''actresses at the photocall, on the red carpet, that moment when they’re being called to by the photographers: their faces a little distracted, their attitude a little out of sync with the outfits they’re wearing.'' She added, "This collection is a tribute to the muses of the house."
At this point, we should probably recall that Coco Chanel had built strong relationships with movie stars and celebrities, such as Grace Kelly, Delphine Seyrig, Jeanne Moreau and Marilyn Monroe, to name but a few. Who can forget Monroe's famous line stating she only wears Chanel No. 5 when she sleeps?
As for the models... they walk in a hard-to-define pattern around the set. Seemingly random. With a casual, determined and confident look. Beautiful faces. Beautiful white faces. It is true that the brand did not use enough models of color. Which could be a weak point, in this day and age. Brands should be able to embrace inclusivity and make the best out of it. Will we witness more, my dear CHANEL, in the future? Will there be progress on that?
As for the clothes, tone-washed jeans in pink and turquoise, t-shirts and dresses with neon-colored logo prints, bermuda shorts, chiffon capelets, embroidered trouser suits, big-shouldered suit jackets and alterations of the remarkable CHANEL tweed jacket, are some of the creations that took our breath away. Black and white prevail, while miniature quilted bags are hanging from ropes of pearls or chain belts. Why don't you see for yourself? Click here for the full collection.
As a whole, the clothes and music were enough to immerse ourselves into an inspirational way of life. A quality of life. You are not selfish to serve yourself with the best this world has to offer. Fashion is all about making ourselves feel confident and beautiful.
And Chanel definitely knows how to do it right.
