DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION: THE MISCONCEIVED VALUES OF TODAY'S SOCIETY

Nowadays companies are talking about diversity. They want to prove to the public they embrace diversity and have made inclusivity one of their core values. Before we continue unravelling our thoughts, let's think for a bit. What is currently defined as diversity and inclusivity? --- Diversity: the practice or quality of including or involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations, etc. Inclusivity:  the practice or policy of providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized, such as those having physical or mental disabilities or belonging to other minority groups. --- In a perfect society, diversity and inclusion would mean letting any person enter, or the chance to enter, a group of people. In such a world, we would not even think, nor be preoccupied, of other people's color, way of dressing, sexual orientation, gender, among many many others....

LOEWE SS21 FASHION COLLECTION | FASHION DESIGNER Jonathan Anderson | Something different for when you feel different | OutLoud

Fashion brand Loewe, SS21 collection by Jonathan Anderson. A travel in time? A travel out of quarantine? Or merely a travel!

Creative to say the least, Jonathan Anderson did create quite something there for LOEWE.

An artist with various other artists as a point of reference -from ceramicists till poets- who gets inspired in all dimensions of his work. With a strong ability to get in the core of things and interpret them in his own unique way. The truth is I don't even know where to start from. You, though, can start by watching this:

Highly theatrical clothes, handmade, combining past, future and present in a distinctive way. Taking the boning technique of the past and implementing it in unorthodox ways, he achieves edgy shapes that shape a new perception.

''Boning? What is boning? The technique of using bones and other materials to hold the fabric in a specific structure, is gracefully called "boning". Just think of a corset, or else look at this:''

Charles James' exhibition at Chicago History Museum.

Back on track! As we were saying... a different persona awaits the one who wears these Loewe creations. What do you want to be there? A crazy bitch wandering around your palace wearing a fabulous garment with knots? A knight with a bizarre armor? What about rich volumes on arms and legs? What is it you are looking for? Where would you like these clothes to travel you to? What is it you wish to escape from? You know what they say: "If you cannot change the house you quarantine in, better change the outfit."

Get inspired by the LOEWE creations. Experiment! And if you experiment enough, make sure you share! 😉

Whaaatt? You wish to explore all outfits? Don't scream at me! Make sure you click here. 😉😃
